Two young students, Sajid (17) and Atif(24) were gunned down on 19 September 2008 at L-18, Batla House, New Delhi.
The students (one of whom was studying at Jamia Millia Islamia ) were alleged to be Indian Mujahideen terrorists and conspirators and executors of the 13 September Delhi Serial Bomb Blasts.
One and half years later, except for more loopholes and more reasons to believe that the encounters were fake, nothing more has emerged.
Because of the efforts of Afroz Alam, RTI activist and Jamia Millia Islamia student, we now know that the same NHRC (which gave Delhi police a clean chit last year) has listed the Batla House encounter as FAKE.
This is a call for to everyone, specially students, and even more so to the ones at Jamia Millia Islamia (some of you might have known the deceased too) to come forward and show our solidarity and love of justice and democracy.
